Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in.

During, for example a posture assessment, clothing should not hinder us to find certain landmarks on your body.

In cases such as knee injuries/problems, we need to be able to see your knee, therefore shorts or pants that can be drawn up past the knee, is preferred.

Still have questions?

You do not require a referral or prescription from a doctor to be evaluated and treated by a Biokineticist.

There are many people who can benefit from Biokinetics - physical rehabilitation - or just physical activities in general.

Examples include athletes with overuse or traumatic injuries, individuals with arthritis, joint replacement surgery, and anyone who is limited by chronic musculoskeletal pain, stiffness, or range of motion restrictions. Individuals that are suffering from traumas to the body’s connective tissues, such as torn ligaments or tendinitis can also benefit from Biokinetics.

Did you know that Biokinetics can also benefit individuals with chronic conditions? This includes high blood pressure or diabetes, individuals that had strokes or heart attacks. People suffering from asthma or exercise-induced asthma, and much more. Chronic conditions can be controlled with exercise to prevent further deterioration.

This is as important as acute treatment but unfortunately often overlooked. The aim of a rehabilitation programme is to regain pre-injury levels or control your chronic condition.

Whether you had an operation, sport injury or live with a chronic condition, we will customise a specific treatment programme to target your individual needs and desired outcome.

No. This practice does not claim directly from your medical aid.

This means you will need to settle your account yourself and then claim back from your medical aid.

Depending on the plan that you are on, these services are covered by your medical aid. In most cases Biokinetics is covered from your savings benefit and/or your allied health benefit initially.

We only charge the standardised medical aid rates.

Appointments are generally one hour in duration however, this can be adapted to your needs and availability.

You can pay cash with the appointment, or make an EFT as soon as you receive your invoice.

Invoices does not have ICD10 codes for claiming purposes, they are only generated upon proof of payment. We will then send a receipt so that you can claim back from your medical aid.

The amount of sessions that you will require depends on the nature and severity of the injury/condition and also how disciplined you are with the prescribed exercises.

Your biokineticist will be able to give you an idea on the number of follow-up sessions and a likely time frame after your assessment.

We will discuss this with you after your assessment so you can know what to expect.

In order for us to treat you effectively, we need to assess how you move, which muscles are under active or even over active, and if your joints have the necessary range of motion that is required for pain free movement.

Without all this data, we will not be able to write a treatment programme that is specific to you.

No two people are the same, why should your treatment be?

This depends on who is available at the time you wish to make an appointment.

In most cases the sooner you receive treatment the better regardless of the Biokineticist, as all of us are fully qualified and up to date with the latest rehabilitation techniques.
